Crafty Ann's Challenge Blog DT Card #9

Hi everyone, I can't believe it's time for another challenge over at Crafty Ann's Challenge Blog already, but it is, and what a fabulous theme we've got for you this time.
Celebrate Your Creativity by trying something that takes you out of your comfort zone! Try a technique or product or fold/design that you've been shying away from or haven't done/used as often as you would like.
Now, those of you who make regular visits to my little part of the WWW will know that I'm NOT very adventurous, especially with different folds and techniques (stick to what you know, being my motto) but faced with the terror of incurring Ann's wrath (JOKE!) I went for it.
It's probably not something I'd repeat, unless it was for a very special card, but actually it was fairly painless, thanks to this fab tutorial from Leann.

Card Details:
* Image - Crafty Ann's 'Cupcakes'
* Colouring medium - Promarkers
* Papers - Crafty Ann's Polished Brights - Earth 'Light Olive'
* Nestabilities - Scalloped Octagons
* Sentiment - PC generated
* Everything else from my stash

Well, you all seemed to enjoy the last challenge and I certainly enjoyed visiting and seeing your wonderful creations. What a varied selection you provided too, with your food, music and love themes.
Do pop over and check out who the lucky winner is, and don't forget to mark your entries if you'd like to be considered as a guest designer.
Most importantly, just have fun and don't forget you've got 2 weeks until the next challenge, so lots of time to try out all those new techniques!

Mo's DT Guest Spot

Hi everyone, well here we are again, another day, another card! (actually, I've just realised that's the name of my friend Edna's blog!)
This is actually a very special card, well for me anyway, because you see it's my entry into the challenge to choose a guest designer to join Mo's Dream Team for March.
As I'm sure you're all aware by now, I love Mo's images and absolutely adore using them on my cards. I'd seen this challenge a while ago, but decided I wasn't going to enter as my cards are not up to the standard of Mo's DT. Then I thought, what have I got to lose? and it means that I can make another card with one of my favourite images......so now I've entered LOL!
The image I've used is called 'Two Jill - Jill is two, two is hard!'
This is part of a range called 'Two' which includes another little girl and 2 little boys, all in various stages of 'terrible two' behaviour.
The images are all available separately at Digital Pencil, but of course, I had to have the whole set!!! Can you blame me, just look at that wonderful little face, totally adorable.

Card Details:
* Image - Mo Manning's 'Two Jill'
* Colouring medium - Promarkers
* Papers - Assorted from my scrap box
* Nestabilities - Scalloped Ovals
* Everything else from my stash.

While I'm here today, I just thought I'd let you know that I was lucky enough to win this gorgeous candy from Bev, which arrived yesterday. Thanks so much Bev, I can't wait to start using it!

Just Magnolia #43

Hi everyone, I'm back again with another card!
I just can't seem to get enough of crafting at the moment, it really seems to be giving me a helping hand as I'm able to 'lose' myself and  forget about real life. In view of this you may be seeing quite a few of my creations in the near future, are you strong enough for that? LOL!
Anyway, on to the card......it's been ages since I managed to join in with the Just Magnolia challenge. It was little Tilda who first weaned me away from vintage and into cute, and she still remains one of my favourite of the little 'sweeties' so I really must try harder to participate more often.
This week the challenge is a fabulous sketch by JayJay, and for my card I've used the adorable 'Tilda picking Lilacs'.
Don't you just love those sweet little plaits blowing in the breeze? (for anyone not from the UK, plaits are our name for pigtails)
I used Distress Inks around the gingham paper, but I still need much more practice with these, no matter how much I try I can't seem to get to grips with them.
I wanted to use some spring like colours for this, mainly to remind myself that it should be on it's way, although with the weather we're having at the moment you'd be forgiven for thinking it's the middle of winter!

Card Details:
* Image - Magnolia 'Tilda picking Lilacs'
* Colouring medium - Promarkers
* Papers - an assortment of K & Co
* Sentiment tag - Nellie Snellen 'Rectangles'
* Sentiment generated on PC
* Everything else from my stash

My card also seems to fit these other challenges:
Papertake Weekly - 'Check This Out'
Stamp Something - 'A Touch of Spring'
Creative Card Crew - 'Get Well Soon'
Creatilicious - 'Create a Little Something'
Crafty Calendar Challenge - 'Love and Friendship'

I'm really pleased that so many of you have been stopping by to say hello, I love receiving all your comments, and I appreciate the time you've spent leaving each and every one.

Between

Hi everyone, today's card was made using another of Mo's gorgeous digital images. The title 'Between' refers to this sweet image of a girl who is no longer a little girl but not quite a teenager.
If you're a regular visitor, you'll know just how much I love the work of this fabulous lady and if you're a new visitor you'll soon find out LOL!

This card is for a few challenges this week, so here they are:
Digital Pencil 2 ~19 - 'Clean 'n Simple'
Digital Tuesday - 'All Things Girly'
The Pink Elephant - 'Ribbon'
Cupcake Craft Challenges - 'Keep It Simple'

I don't think things could get much simpler than this card, so imagine my surprise to find I was totally out of my comfort zone. It was really difficult keeping it simple without using any papers or embellishments.

Card Details:
* Image - Mo's Digital Pencil 'Between'
* Colouring medium - Promarkers
* Everything else from my stash

On re-reading the rules for Mo's challenge, I'm hoping my card fits as I used another image too. The little signpost is a Magnolia image, but I thought it added to the little scene I wanted to create. Hopefully this will be OK.

Bah! Humbug! Challenge #6

Hi everyone!
Today's card is for this week's challenge at Bah! Humbug! where the theme is 'Snowmen'.
I decided to use one of the cuties from a PC Crafter download kit that I purchased years ago (and always seem to forget about) It's called 'Cold Hands, Warm Heart' and features some adorable little wintry characters. This one is entitled 'Hiding Snowman' (I wonder why?)
This card will also fit the bill at ABC Christmas Challenge where they want to see 'D for Decorations' and would have fitted Fab's Big Christmas Card Challenge  where the theme was '3 ribbons or tags'.... except that I'm too late for it!

Card Details:
* Image - PC Crafter 'Cold Hands Warm Heart'
* Paper - Papermania 'Naughty and Nice'
* Nestabilities - Labels 4
* Decoration embellishment - Crafty Bitz
* Tags - hand cut and hand written
* Everything else from my stash

I'm so relieved that I seem to be keeping up with these Christmas challenges now, well at least I've managed the last 2 weeks, and that's quite good for me LOL!

Sketch & Stash DT card #29

 Hi everyone, this is my DT card for the new challenge at Sketch & Stash which is being sponsored by Whimsy Stamps, they are offering one lucky person the chance to win a $15 voucher to spend at their store, so why not come and join in the fun?
The sketch is another fabby one by our own lovely Becky and I just loved working with this one, it is such a clean and simple style so your main image really stands out.
The sketch had such a fresh look to it, so I decided I wanted to use delicate colours and papers to compliment this, and keep it all as uncluttered as I could.
My new stash was this little rabbit from the House Mouse range (a RAK from my sweet friend Heather) I thought it was just the perfect choice for the focal point, isn't she adorable? Oh, and the liquid pearls that I've used for the centre of the flower and around the edge of the mat....bit more practice needed on this methinks!

Card Details:
* Image - House Mouse 'Fancy Pants'
* Colouring medium - Promarkers and Distress Inks
* Papers - Papermania 'Exquisite'
* Everything else from my stash

I hope you can find time to visit and join in and if you're in need of inspiration, don't forget to check out the other DT blogs, where you'll find oodles of gorgeous creations!

Digital Pencil, Colour Create, Pink Elephant and By the Cute & Girly Challenges

Hi everyone, today's card is for four challenges:
Digital Pencil is yet another challenge that I had wanted to regularly enter, mainly because I'm such a Mo-aholic (as you'll probably be aware if you're a regular visitor) and I'm hoping that I'll get to join in a lot more of the challenges in future.
Colour Create are celebrating a whole year of challenges (and offering some fabulous prizes too!) so why not take a look and join in the fun?
Pink Elephant  are looking for a Mushy, Gushy Valentine (I think this fits!)
By The Cute And Girly where the theme this month is, of course, 'Love'

Card Details:
* Image - Mo's Digital Pencil 'Bella hearts Bronte'
* Colouring medium - Promarkers
* Papers - My Mind's Eye
* Punch - Martha Stewart 'Garden Trellis' deep edge punch
* Everything else from my stash

I adore this MS punch and I'm sure that you'll be seeing lots more of it LOL! Speaking of which, I purchased it from Oyster Stamps and wanted to let you all know what fabulous customer service I received. Tracey couldn't have been more helpful and the (huge amount!) of goodies that I ordered arrived the very next day. Now that's what I call good service!

Thank you to all my visitors for the lovely comments you've been leaving me, you are such sweeties!
If you're a regular visitor, but don't normally leave a comment, please do this time.  I'd love to be able to return the favour and visit your blog too.

Crafty Ann's Challenge Blog DT card - #8

Hi everyone, my card today is my DT card for challenge 8 at Crafty Ann's Challenge Blog where the theme is "If music be the food of Love".
Now, I've actually been a bit naughty here and doubled this challenge up with a card commission, hoping that as it was a (sort of) musical theme, it might be acceptable. This was definitely pushing it one step too far but the lovely Ann allowed it and I hope that she and the other DT members will forgive me? I promise to stick to the guidelines properly in future girls!

This turned out to be quite a difficult commission for me, my original ideas for a 13 year old girl were dashed when I was informed "she is a tomboy and doesn't 'do' pink or girly, but LOVES Michael Jackson".
I kept wanting to add flowers and ribbons and stuff and had to keep forcing myself to keep it simple. I thought I could probably get away with this gorgeous black and white ribbon though, so that cheered me up a bit LOL!

Card Details:
* Image - from Google
* 'Typewriter key' circles - Greetings Factory CD
* Backing Papers - Crafty Ann's 'Embossed Stars'
* Ribbon - RAK from my dear friend Barb
* Everything else from my stash

I'm sorry that I didn't get to join in with you all for the last challenge, but I'm looking forward to seeing what you create for this one.
Which theme will you choose, will it be love, food or music, or will you create something totally different to this? I can't wait to find out.
Please check out the cards from the other girls in the DT, who actually did stick to the theme properly!

Bah! Humbug! Challenge #5

Hi everyone, how lovely to be back with you all again, I'm just quickly popping on to post my card for this week's challenge at Bah! Humbug!
This was a challenge blog that I really wanted to support, partly because it's run by some crafting friends of mine and partly so I didn't have so many Christmas cards to make at the last minute this year. Unfortunately, this is the first time I've managed to get a card done since Challenge #1, but I'm hoping to join in regularly from now on.
This week's theme is 'Holly' and I'm submitting this card which is destined for a very special person next Christmas. I love this little girl, she's so sweet.

Card Details:
* Image - Cardmaking Heaven download kit 'Holly Girl'
* Papers - Hot off the Press
* Corners - Cuttlebug 'Vintage'
* Glitter - Stickles 'Crystal Ice'
* Everything else from my stash

I've just noticed another Christmas card challenge Fab's Big Christmas Cards Challenge. The theme is 'Punch it and Bling it I don't know that this card is perfect for the challenge, but it does have some 'bling' on it (sparkle on the corner and little red gems for the holly berries) so I'm hoping it fits.

 I'd like to thank all of you who sent me good wishes, e-mails and cards. I really appreciate your support and wanted you to know that it certainly helped me through the worst times.
I'm planning on entering a few of my favourite challenges from now on and, of course, my DT challenges. I shall be taking things a little slowly for a while, as my brain is still a bit fuzzy and I don't seem to have a lot of ideas, but I've missed you all so much and I'm looking forward to getting back to crafting and blogging again.
