Sketch and Stash Challenge #7

Where does the time go? we're up to challenge 7 at Sketch and Stash already.
Becky has done another fabulous sketch and this time I've converted it from being square so I could make a larger card.
It's my uncle's birthday next week and I usually make him a vintage style card, but I really wanted to do something different this time and as I'd recently got the fabulous 'Charlie 007' and hadn't used it I thought this would be just perfect for him.
As it's a card for a man I've kept it very simple and not added any extra embellishments, with the result that it now looks far too plain for my tastes. Now I know why I don't like doing men's cards, but as he's such a darling and the best uncle ever, I'll make an exception!

Card Details:
* Image - 'Charlie 007' from Whiff of Joy
* Image coloured with Promarkers
* Papers- Papermania
* Tag and ribbon - my stash

You may have noticed I haven't been about much lately, well we've recently received some very sad family news with the result being that I really haven't felt like blogging or crafting. I'd like to apologise for not visiting you all as often as I normally would and also for not managing to leave a comment for all the people who joined in the last Sketch and Stash challenge, I hope you'll forgive me.
My lovely hubby has decided that we need to take a short break to give us a boost, so by the time you read this we'll be on our way to Cornwall for a week or so. I'm hoping that I'll feel a bit brighter on our return but we'll only be back for a short while before taking another trip, this time up to Suffolk to visit family for a while, so I'm really not sure how long it will be until I'm back to normal blogging again. I'll try to keep in touch as much as possible, but I hope you'll all understand if I'm not around much for a while.

Blogging Awards

I'm so thrilled to have been given so many awards by my blogging friends and I appreciate each and every one of them. Just lately though, I've been finding it increasingly difficult to keep up to date with my blogging and crafting (and everything else!) so I hope no one will be offended if I ask you not to pass any more awards on to me.
It's not that I'm ungrateful or uncaring, but I just don't seem able to find enough time to follow the rules on passing them on, and that's just not fair on the rest of the community.
Thank you again for thinking of me and I hope you can all understand.

Sketch and Stash Challenge 6

The card I've decided on for the Sketch and Stash challenge #6 was made for my Mum to give to her best friend for her birthday. I've used the Art Deco CD from Card Creations again, but I've never used this image before, so I hope that counts!
I've been making lots of 'cutie' cards lately, so it made a nice change to go vintage again.

Card Details:
* Image from Diane Kay's Art Deco CD - Card Creations
* Backing papers - Hot off the Press
* Flower - Joanna Sheen
* Punch - Martha Stewart Doily Lace
* Button from my stash
* Sentiment produced on PC

Thank you to all of you who posted cards for the last challenge it's lovely that so many of you have fun with the sketches. I do hope you'll manage to find time to join in again this week, as I can honestly say this latest sketch from Becky was a joy to use (that plus the fact that I enjoy visiting you to see what you've all made lol!)

Stamp Something and ABC Challenge

Today's card fits 2 challenges, Stamp Something's 'Something Green' and ABC Challenge 'E is for Easter'.

Card Details:
* Image Sarah Kay 'Precious Moments'
* Image coloured with Letraset Promarkers
* Backing paper - K and Co kit from QVC
* Mats - Nestabilities
* Ribbon and brads - Poppicrafts
* Flower - Sharon Duncan

I'm still trying to catch up with the latest postings from my blogging pals. The main problem is that I get carried away while I'm visiting and end up spending ages browsing all the wonderful creations! So if I still haven't managed to make it to your blog yet, blame it on all the clever crafters out there in blogland.

Papertake Weekly - Dawny's Sketch

Hi everyone, can you believe that I've actually made a card at last? This one is for a challenge and it's a long time since I joined in any challenges, other than Sketch and Stash, that's for sure!

Since getting over the bad back problem, I've been pretty much Mojo-less (is there such a word??) so I spent yesterday and this morning colouring some of my images (my favourite pastime, ah bliss!) in the hope that it might give me inspiration for a card and I guess it must have worked! Anyway, here's little Daisy looking very thoughtful but cute as a button.
The card is for this week's Papertake Weekly challenge (just in time!) which is one of Dawny's sketches, and a lovely one it is too, I can see me using this a lot.

Card Details:
* Image - Sugar Nellie's 'Daisy'
* Image coloured with Letraset Promarkers
* Backing papers - K & Co (12x12 box full from QVC)
* Ribbon - Poppicrafts
* Sentiment - Daisie Company download kit

One of my blogging friends Kym very kindly gave me these two awards some time ago. This is the first time I've blogged since, so thank you Kym and I'm very sorry for taking so long.

A quick message and a Thank You card for you all!

Thank you for being my friends!

Just a quick posting to let you all know that I've just this minute got up and running with the new PC!
The good news therefore, is that I'll be able to come and visit you all very soon, hooray, I've really missed you all!!

It's also my Blogoversary today and I hadn't even realised until I just read a comment from a visitor!
I really find it hard to believe that it's a year today since I set up my blog, although in another way it feels like I've known all my blogging friends for much longer than that.
So thank you all for making my first year so wonderful with all your visits, lovely comments and most of all your friendship!

Some news and Sketch and Stash Challenge #5

Well, this feels a bit strange. I've been away so long that I've forgotten how to do this, anyway onward!
Firstly, I'd like to thank you all for your lovely messages, they've really cheered me up. How lovely to know I've made so many wonderful blogging friends in such a short time.
My back is feeling a lot better now, nearly back to normal (excuse the pun!) and I'm really looking forward to catching up with you all very soon. Unfortunately it won't be for a little while longer as my DH has decided I deserve a nice, new computer!! So, this post is being scheduled and I will be losing my PC on Monday until....I don't know when! I'm looking forward to zooming around to you all once I'm up and running again though.

My card today is for this week's Sketch and Stash Challenge and I can't believe that we're up to number 5 already! I'm so sorry that I haven't managed to get to see what you've all done for Challenge 4 yet, but I promise I'll get there soon and thank you all for joining in again! For those of you who haven't managed to join us yet, why not see if you can make it this time?

This was another fabulous sketch by Becky and I really don't think I've done it justice at all as I'm a bit out of practice at the moment.
I bought this lovely download image a few weeks ago, but this is the first time I've managed to use it, with the change in the weather I wanted to do something with a promise of Spring and this fitted the bill. I printed out the image twice and cut out and decoupaged the flowers so they stand out a little more.
Card Details:
* Download image 'Pretty Window' - Sketching Stampers
* Image coloured with Letraset Pro markers
* Lace ribbon - K & Co
* Papers, bow and brads - from my stash

Thank you all for visiting and I'm looking forward to seeing what you've all been up to very soon.
