Crafty Ann's Challenge Blog DT card - #8

Hi everyone, my card today is my DT card for challenge 8 at Crafty Ann's Challenge Blog where the theme is "If music be the food of Love".
Now, I've actually been a bit naughty here and doubled this challenge up with a card commission, hoping that as it was a (sort of) musical theme, it might be acceptable. This was definitely pushing it one step too far but the lovely Ann allowed it and I hope that she and the other DT members will forgive me? I promise to stick to the guidelines properly in future girls!

This turned out to be quite a difficult commission for me, my original ideas for a 13 year old girl were dashed when I was informed "she is a tomboy and doesn't 'do' pink or girly, but LOVES Michael Jackson".
I kept wanting to add flowers and ribbons and stuff and had to keep forcing myself to keep it simple. I thought I could probably get away with this gorgeous black and white ribbon though, so that cheered me up a bit LOL!

Card Details:
* Image - from Google
* 'Typewriter key' circles - Greetings Factory CD
* Backing Papers - Crafty Ann's 'Embossed Stars'
* Ribbon - RAK from my dear friend Barb
* Everything else from my stash

I'm sorry that I didn't get to join in with you all for the last challenge, but I'm looking forward to seeing what you create for this one.
Which theme will you choose, will it be love, food or music, or will you create something totally different to this? I can't wait to find out.
Please check out the cards from the other girls in the DT, who actually did stick to the theme properly!

Nothing to forgive Chrissie, this is a lovely card and I'm sure it's recipient will be delighted with it. My DT card served a double purpose too, I made it for my DH for our anniversary, but my guess is that Ellie would be disappointed if you'd used the image I used :o)
Great to have back this week sweetheart.

Chrissie, what a lovely card and I think a good choice for a tomboy. I was a bit like that when I was growing up but did like pink but now I don't really like it - amazing how time moves on eh???

Lovely to see you back and blogging. I have certainly missed seeing you out-and-about. Each day things will get easier.

Thanks for allowing me to be a Guest Designer on the Design Team. I've been like a kid waiting for Christmas for today to see how others interpreted the challenge. It's amazing to see how much they differ but they all include cards made with lovely images and backing papers.

Best wishes, Kym xxx
