In Love with London

Good evening, just lately I've been struggling to keep up with all the things on my "to do" list so this will be my last update for a little while. Once I've got everything up to date I'll be back, but at the moment trying to blog every day is proving very difficult. I shall still try to make my daily blog visits, as I love seeing what my fellow bloggers are doing.

Tonight's card is the final of the series, and like the other two is very plain with just simple matting and a border at top and bottom.

I hope you like it and thank you to everyone who has visited and left such lovely comments, I hope to see you again very soon.

An Evening in New York

Good evening, is it just me or has it turned really cold now? I've had a winter cardi on all day today, but I hope you've had a good day whatever you've been up to.

Tonight's capital city is New York. All 3 cards are made in exactly the same style, the only difference between them is the slightly different border.

I have quite a lot of projects on my "to do" list now so it's unlikely that I'll have time to enter any challenges or make any "cutie" cards for a while. Never mind, it will make it all the more enjoyable when my orders are all done and I can get back to "playing" again.

Thank you all for the lovely messages I've received about my cards, I really appreciate your taking the time to leave me comments.

Bev's Candy

I just need to let you know that the lovely and VERY talented Bev is giving away some candy. I'm absolutely desperate to have this stamp so I'm hoping and wishing that I may be lucky enough to win. As well as the stamp Bev's also giving away some lovely embellishments, so please go and take a look but PLEASE don't enter this, as I really need all the help I can get to become a blog candy winner, I enter lots but never manage to win. sob, sob!

Weekend in Paris

Good evening, I hope you've all had a good day, we went to a shopping mall today, always nice I think (my husband would disagree!) and I managed to get a few bits and bobs, so I'm quite a happy bunny!
Tonight's card is the first of a set of 3 featuring capital cities, this one is Paris.
Another very simple card with the main collage image being mounted onto 2 co-ordinating colours of cardstock, the only other embellishment is the border at top and bottom of the card (again from that scrapbook kit, how lucky that it came to light!)
I'm quite enjoying making these cards at the moment, they are all made from A4 cardstock so are fairly large in size, the images somehow seem to have more impact on this size card.
I will post the second of this series tomorrow, so until then thank you for visiting and I hope you want to come back again.

Purple Beauty

Good evening, tonight's card is another vintage one. This time I do know where the image came from, it's from Joanna Sheen's Victorian Companion CD.
Again I haven't really done anything with this image as she is so beautiful, nothing else is really needed.
The image is mounted onto some purple pearlescent cardstock and then straight onto the dark brown card. The only embellishments are a gold cuttlebug corner, a purple border and a little purple flower with a metallic purple brad.
Some of the colours have not scanned too well and in real life they do actually all co-ordinate quite nicely with each other.
Tomorrow's card isn't going to be a vintage image, but it does have that vintage "feel" to it.
I hope you all have a lovely evening and thank you for popping by, please post a comment before leaving as I love to know who's been here.

Back to Vintage

Good evening, well today I've finally managed to get quite a few cards made.
As some of you may know, my first love is "vintage" especially the Art Nouveau and Art Deco periods (closely followed by my new love of "cuties") and as it seemed like ages since I'd made any of these and I was in the mood today, I thought I'd make up for lost time.
I've actually made 6 cards today, although I printed the images a couple of days ago, so if you are visiting me over the next few days, be prepared!
I've been collecting vintage images from all over the place for years now, so I have a huge amount of images but no idea where they originally came from I'm afraid.
All of the cards are very simple, as the images are so fabulous I didn't want to detract from them by making the cards too fussy.
The card I'm sharing today has the image simply mounted onto some brown cardstock and then onto the main card which is black, the border is from a scrapbook kit that I bought ages ago (and had forgotten about until I found it hiding at the back of a cupboard last week).
I think she is so gorgeous with her furs and her dogs and I hope you like her too.

A Card for Saturday

I'm sorry that I haven't been posting very much this week. I've had good intentions every day, but I seem to keep getting sidetracked into other things.
I've posted another family card on my other blog HERE if you'd like to see it and I'm hoping to get a few other things done today too, but the way things have been going lately I won't be holding my breath!

My Other Blog

Good evening, well I'm afraid I haven't managed to make a card today either, but I have posted a couple of cards that I made (for a 30th birthday and an engagement) on my other blog HERE if you care to take a look.
I'm hoping that I may be able to take some photographs of a little friendship book that I recently made with my Bind It All, but that rather depends on how well I've managed to learn how the camera works, so we'll see!

No card today

Good evening, actually there WAS a card today, it's just that my scanner hates it and won't copy it so I can't show it to you. I really MUST learn how to use the digital camera!
I've been playing with some of my lovely new cardstock today, I ordered lots and lots from The Papermill and I was so pleased with it when it arrived, it's beautiful and such lovely quality too, I shall certainly order from them again (my husband will be pleased to learn that!)

As I can't show you today's card I thought I might share some photos with you. A little while ago I was asked if I would make some Art Deco style cards to put in a new shop that was opening up in a village near me, needless to say I jumped at the chance. I haven't managed to get to see the new shop yet, but the lady who owns it sent me some photos. I thought she had done a wonderful job with the display and made them look very elegant, obviously some other people agree because I've already sold some, how exciting!
I hope you enjoy looking at the photos and thank you for your visit, hopefully normal service will be resumed tomorrow and I'll have a card to show you.

Suzanne's "Whiff of Joy" Blog Candy

I would just LOVE to win this as I adore these stamps, so I'm keeping everything crossed for luck (which is quite uncomfortable actually!)

Double Challenge Card

Good afternoon, I hope you are well, I'm certainly feeling a lot brighter today, thank goodness!
Before we go any further I'd probably better warn you that today's card has quite a cheeky sentiment, so if you're easily offended maybe you shouldn't read any further. Hopefully those of you still reading enjoy a good joke (like myself) and may even agree with the sentiment, who knows?
My card today is for 2 challenges, the first is Wednesday's Dutch Dare Challenge of "Buttons" and the second is for Saturday's Penny Black Challenge which is "One for the Girls".
The image is by Penny Black and has been coloured using a mixture of pro-markers and pencils with sansador, the backing papers are a mixture of pinks and glitters from my stash and I haven't a clue where the black star buttons came from I'm afraid.
I hope my card may have made you smile and thank you for visiting my blog.

Cute Card Thursday - Pretty in Pink

I've been feeling a bit "cotton woolly" today, this is probably due to the amount of sinus tablets I've been popping over the last few days, but it means that my brain isn't working too well at the moment and I'm having trouble thinking clearly (even worse than normal that is) so just getting this card made and posted was a major achievement in itself really.
Today's card is for Cute Card Thursday's challenge of "Pretty in Pink", well she's not in pink she's in purple but the card's pink so hopefully that will count. She SHOULD have been in pink, but I forgot that when I started colouring her (I told you, I can't think straight)
The image is Hangler and Stangler, the backing paper and paper lace ribbon are K & Co, the mats are Nestabilities, the swirly corners are Cuttlebug and the little sentiment stamp is Cuddly Buddly.
Hopefully tomorrow will be more succesful, but thanks for taking the time to visit today.

Tilda & Co Challenge - Emboss This

Good evening, what terrible weather we've had today, it's rained all day. I hope it has been better where you are.
Well, I've just managed this challenge by the skin of my teeth again (what a strange saying that is, I must stop using it!) as there will be a fresh challenge tomorrow.
Tilda & Co's challenge this week was to use embossing on your project.
This week we are having fun with Embossing,
It Could be Heat Set Embossing, Dry Embossing, Embossing Boards, Embossing Folders The list can go on forever, So please show off your Embossing On your projects.

I've chosen this sweet little Tilda and mounted her onto some cuttlebugged cardstock that I've highlighted with a Sakura white glaze pen to make it look like polka dots, I've also used the pen to highlight the backing papers, and the little cuttlebugged border has been highlighted with chalks. I've finished off with a little piece of pretty braiding that I found in my stash and that matched the card. Tilda has been coloured with a mixture of pro-markers and pencils and the little cherries on her dress and boots have been glazed.
Now that I've seen the scan I realise that it is VERY purple, so I hope you like it and thanks for looking.

Adele's Blog Candy

Another generous lady giving away candy soon is Adele she's celebrating over 15000 hits. People don't get this many hits on their site for no reason, so why not pop over and take a look at her fabulous blog.

Ooh-la-la Challenge - Words of Wisdom

Good evening, I'm a little late tonight, another one of "those days" I'm afraid.
Tonight's card is for the Ooh-la-la challenge which this week is "Words of Wisdom".
This is such an inspiring quote, I do wish I could tell you where it came from, but sadly I can't, it's one of a number of quotes and sayings that I've picked up over the years and are jotted down on bits of paper (hence the reason I'm planning to make a quote book with my Bind It All very soon).
I wanted this card to have a vintage look so I decided to use a mixture of browns and pinks. The backing papers are from K & Co, the quote has been mounted onto one of the oval nestabilities with some bronze eyelets and it's all finished off with some little flowers with pearl centres.
I've spent all today playing with the BIA and have actually produced a friendship book which I hope will be winging it's way to my best friend next week. I'm sure my efforts can be improved upon with more practice, but actually I'm quite pleased with the way this has turned out, not too bad for a first attempt anyway. I wish I could share it with you, but there's no way it would scan and as I haven't yet mastered how to use the digital camera this may be unlikely.
Thanks so much for visiting my blog and it would be great if you left a message as I love to know who's popped in.

Sarah Kay Challenge 9 - Purple and Green

Good evening I hope the weather is better where you are than it is here. It's a little like winter at the moment, I really think this must be one of the worst summers we've had.
The good thing about today's bad weather was that it meant I could play with my new Bind It All, well I say new but I've had it a few weeks now and I'm ashamed to admit that this is the first time it's been out of it's box. I have a couple of ideas for different things and if they work out, I'll let you know.
Tonight's card is for the Sarah Kay challenge which this week is "Purple and Green" The challenge has been set by Amanda who loves working with a purple and green colour combination.
I think this image of the little artist is so sweet, but all of these images are, so it's hard to pick a favourite. The backing papers are from Dovecraft and I've cut some of the flowers from a second sheet and decoupaged them, the little stamp is from K & Co and that's about it for this one, nice and easy.
I'm hoping to pop back to my craft room and play some more, so I hope you all have a lovely evening and thank you for coming to visit my blog.

Kristin's Blog Candy

Kristin is giving away some gorgeous Blog Candy, Magnolia stamps, stash AND some stamped images, how fabulous! If you haven't visited her blog before, this may be your chance to catch up with her creations.

Stamp Something - Back to School

Good evening, I hope you've had a good day.
I've had a bad head all day today, I keep getting these at the moment and they seem to be sinus related so I'm assuming it's something to do with the weather as I usually suffer with these when the seasons change. Whatever it is I've had enough of it now, so I hope it ends soon.
My card tonight is for Friday's Stamp Something challenge of 'Back to School'. I've used one of the new Tilda's, who is obviously a very good girl as she's brought an apple for her teacher. The backing papers are K & Co and Dovecraft, the side border is one of the new cuttlebug borders coloured with Perfect Pearls and the images have been coloured with Pro-Markers.
I have also posted 2 wedding cards on my other blog HERE today, if you'd care to take a look. This is to give my son and DIL a choice for the wedding reception they are attending on Saturday. I hope they like one of them, or I'm going to be making the fastest wedding card in history on Saturday when they pop in for it!

Cute Card Thursday - In the water

A very good afternoon to you. It's not often I can say that as I'm usually much later in posting my card so I don't know what's happened today.
This card is for Cute card Thursday's challenge which this week is "In the water"
All my cards lately seem to have been square ones so I thought I'd have a change with this and I've used a DL sized card. The backing paper is from my stash and the cuttlebug embossing was sent to me by a crafting friend (I've only got the Swiss Dots folder at the moment) I've married these two together with a lovely green ribbon that I found in my ribbon drawer (I'm not sure where it came from but I think it may have been part of some ribbon blog candy I won from Ooh-la-la ages ago) the cuttlebug corners are from the "vintage" die set, and the flower is made up from some different Poppicraft flowers and one of their brads.
This cute little girl has been coloured with a mixture of pro-markers and pencils used with sansador (yes I risked it again!) and I've glazed the bubbles, although it doesn't show in the scan. I love the sentiment on this and although I no longer experience this feeling since retiring from work, I remember it only too well!

A Tale of Two Challenges

Well not quite a novel, but this card definitely had it's moments, more of that later.
Firstly good evening to you all and I hope you've had a succesful day. Mondays are always a little hectic for me as it's my day for getting my Mum's shopping and then doing her washing and housework. By the time I get home I'm usually trying to catch up with myself all evening.
Tonight's card is for the Dutch Dare Challenge "A Card for A Girl" and also fits the Tanda Teaser challenge which this week is "Pretty in Pink".
Another cute little girl from Hangler and Stangler, this time with her teddy bear. I'm not sure where the backing papers came from but the little green photo corners are K & Co, the sentiment was done on the PC and she is mounted onto Nestabilities. I coloured her with my Pro-Markers but when the card was completed I decided I wanted to shade the sentiment slightly. I used my pencils and Sansador and was just about finished when I knocked the bottle of Sansador over.
I must have lost about half the bottle, everything on my table was soaked with it including the now completed card! I cleared up as best I could, but if you've ever used this you'll know how difficult it is (although it did bring my pine table up with a lovely sheen!) it had covered everything on the table, plus I think the fumes had made me a bit "high". The air was a little blue as you can imagine, and I just left the card on the side. So I was very surprised when I returned from Mum's today to find the card had dried out without a mark on it, hence the reason it's now on the blog as planned.
I hope you like the card now it's recovered from it's little accident and hopefully tomorrow's card will be trauma free! Thank you for visiting and I hope to see you again soon.
